Dead End

When one dies, his soul is claimed by either forces: the good or evil. Those greeted by angels go voluntarily while the corrupt and doomed souls resist and are hunted on the streets by the devils and their creatures like game animals. The lucky souls avoiding capture hide in a dead end, at least for the time being until they are cast by onto the streets by stronger souls…

A young couple move into a beautiful dream house on a cul-de-sac in an affluent neighborhood with their 7 year old son Timmy. Everything seems perfect until Kate learns that the house is haunted.

Her residence is occupied by jealous and evil spirits who are resolved to cause harm and flip their lives upside down: Her young son, Timmy, is beleaguered with diseases doctors fail to diagnose; her husband, Tim, picks up the bottle and becomes a drunk; while she is driven on the edge, on the verge of losing her sanity, with horrific apparitions and nightmares. She and Tim turn against each other with quarrels escalating to involve grave physical and, worse, mental injuries .

At the Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis tandem movie premiere, a huge, violent car accident takes place where a mix of characters are among the dead: a U.S. congressman, a spoiled rich brat, a pimp, a hooker, and a serial killer.

In the midst of chaos— in a scene that mocks hell— the dead rise from the ruins as if they get out of the accident totally unscathed. A  blinding light suddenly appears with two glowing angels. The dead all turn away to cover their eyes except for the hooker, who shed tears of joy as she is able to withstand the intensity of the effulgence. The angels reach out for her. She and three other souls dissolve into the light. The remaining souls are left to discover their ugly fate.

What follows next is darkness. Then the groaning and moaning souls appear by the thousands, running away fearfully. The flapping sound of wings, along with the modulated humming and the thudding footsteps of large beasts near. The hysterical brat, the congressman, the serial killer and the rest of the gang join the frenzy in a scramble to get away from the hideous figures of the dark.

The devils are closing in, their protruding, big red eyes are pronounced, large fangs against the wide, disgustingly loathsome and foul mouth, defined muscles, burned, fiery, covered with scales and blisters. The creatures look like modified horses, goats, dragons and centipedes, they all share a disturbingly grotesque appearance.

One by one the devils snatch fleeing souls for immediate transport to hell where the captives are cast into the brimstone of fire, doomed to suffer eternal pain. Those who are lucky enough to escape the onslaught find refuge in a dead end, where Kate’s beloved home stands.

Kate and her family must get out of the house before they, too, will soon be counted among the dead.
